Haven't posted for an age; just a small piece.

This is part of a recent commission for the presenter, broadcaster and voice-over artist Piers Gibbon.  The image forms part of a DVD cover for a colletion of Pier's work, which includes some documentaries for National Geographic on tribal medicines and practices, as well as his portfolio of voice-over and narration work.

John Constantine back in the smoke

Monday, 12 March 2012

This weekend it was with much sadness that I learnt the artist Jean Giraud (aka Moebius) had passed away. To say that this man was a giant among comic artists is an understatement. Giraud's influence on the medium is incalculable and I can't help feeling the artistic world is a little poorer for his passing. Thank you Jean for the beautiful artwork you left us.

Just done, pencils still smokin!!

Shown here are a few examples of the illustrations I recently completed for SFX magazine, Paranormal Special (on sale now). The hour was late and the deadlines very tight but I got there with the aid of coffee and Metal!!! Big thank you to Jes Bickham for pushing these commissions my way.

Website coming soon!!!

More drawing exercises, getting messy with the ink again. These were drawn intuitively rather than planned.

Further life drawings, in flip chart marker pen and Indian Ink. I hope the image quality isn't too bad, it's just that these drawings are large (the top one is life size) and it took me an age getting a halfway decent photo of each one.

Mr Constantine and a Lovercraftian beastie; a taster page from my DC submission. I'll post the whole sequence in future.

Another from the vault.

Some landscape sketches

The first couple of pages for a ahort story set in a run down, over grown London. It ended up on the backburner as other projects monopolised my time and energy. Hopefully I'll get to do a few more pages at some point when I've finished the pletora of pieces I'm currently scribbling away at.

A little sequence with Elektra in assassin mode. Enjoyed playing around with some splatter effect on this one.

Some life drawings in pencil, charcoal and biro respectively.

The Harvestman

Tuesday, 29 June 2010

This one is another from the vault piece. Fans - Oh! the irony. Hopefully its legible. No disrespect meant to the great Alan Moore.

Cover piece I painted for my story Seventh Son. It's due to be published later this year; the interior artwork will be provided by my friend Andrew Richmond, (who also has his own blog of goodness).
